Abigail Dwight letter on the death of Ephraim Williams and the Battle of Lake George

Letter from Abigail Dwight to an unknown correspondent, possibly Abraham Booker, concerning the deaths and events at the Battle of Lake George. Dwight, the sister of Col. Ephraim Williams, recounts in detail the events leading to his death. Dwight also describes the serious wounding of another brother, Josiah Williams, who survived the battle thanks to a young Mohawk Indian man who carried him safely from the battlefield and into the care of the doctor Thomas Williams. She describes the desperate circumstances of the soldiers overwintering at Crown Point and comments at length on military strategy.
