About the Project

Special Collections preserves and shares diverse collections that are administratively and culturally significant to the college. In this way we support the teaching, learning and research interests of our students, faculty, staff and alumni, and of the greater scholarly community.

Special Collections provides access to material, born digital or digitized, regardless of original format. Unbound offers a platform for sharing our oral histories, photographs, theses, syllabi, moving image material, maps, posters, manuscripts and texts. While the bulk of our e-collections are accessible to a world-wide audience, several are restricted to Williams faculty, staff and students, or only available from certain IP addresses.

We would like to recognize the generous aid of several donors which has allowed Special Collections to build our e-collections. Tim Reily, brother of Michael Reily (Class of 1964), funded digitization of the Reily scrapbook, and an alumna of the Class of 2005 financed digitization of large-format maps and architectural plans. Our thanks to these friends of Williams history.
