Henry Williams Dwight, First (1757-1804) of Stockbridge. Son of Joseph Dwight and Abigail Williams Dwight, Administrator of the estate of Dr. Thomas Williams, brother of the Founder. Father of Henry Williams Dwight, Second, a Trustee of Williams College (1829-1837) to whom is given the credit of making the eloquent plea which resulted in choice of Mark Hopkins as President of Williams College. 
Ira Seymour ( ) of Stockbridge. Deputy Sheriff. Pursued 1787 by Shays' soldiers, but escaped "without a shoe to protect his feet from the snow".
